This could be a clear sign that a scammer has cloned your card. The scam in question is simply dangerous because if the provider gives credit to the fake history, it will activate the SIM card by handing it over to the scammer who will then be able to receive your messages, calls and data on the new phone. In addition, cybercriminals, in possession of your mobile number, will also be able to open new accounts in your name or buy new phones using your information. Worse still, they will also be able to access messaging apps using two-factor authentication.

We all know by now that multi-factor authentication (MFA) can provide extra protection for your accounts. In addition to the password, you will need a second ID to verify your identity. In this case, it could also be something you already have, such as a password you receive via text message, security key, or authenticator app.
The scammer, armed with your login credentials, could log into your bank account and steal your money or take over your email or social media accounts. Moreover, they could also change your social media passwords at the same time. So in case you get the duplicate message, the advice is to report everything immediately to the Postal Police and then block the Sim afterwards.
