How is the relationship between Camilla and Meghan Markle really going? The Queen Consort reportedly made a special effort to support both the Duchess of Sussex and Kate, now Princess of Wales, when they joined the Royal Family. According to information from a close source, the current queen would have tried not to make the new entries into the family experience the same ordeal that had happened to her.
Camilla would indeed have lived through a “terrible period” when she had to deal with royal protocol and the new expectations linked to her position alongside Carlo. Writer and royal affairs expert Angela Levin said the Duchess of Sussex “wasn’t interested” in learning advice from Parker Bowles.
Speaking to The Mail’s Palace Confidential, Levin said: ‘He tried everything with Meghan, to please her. He also did it with Kate”. On the part of Camilla, there would therefore have been the intention to integrate Meghan Markle as well as possible into the royal family. But what happened next?

Levin said Camilla wanted to help Meghan Markle in every way to avoid getting into nasty situations, as happened years ago. She said: “Because she went through such a terrible time when she joined the Royal Family, she tried to tell them where the pitfalls and protocols might be that seem silly but they have to follow.” But, despite the good intentions, things do not go well between the two women.
The biographer says King Charles’ wife gave both women the same treatment, but Kate was “very grateful”, while Meghan “was not at all interested”. So already at the time of her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018 between the two women a strong bond had not been established, as Camilla hoped.
The expert, however, also speculated that Camilla could be key to welcoming Prince Harry and Meghan Markle back to the Palace. In this regard, he said, “You understand as a parent that you can love your child even if you don’t like what he is doing.” On the other hand, some sources report that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are trying to fix the family feud. In their attempt to reconnect, the figure of the new queen could therefore be crucial.
