‘She-Hulk’: New Episode Brings Multiple Tributes to Late ‘Daredevil’ Series

The new episode of “She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes” finally features Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock, Daredevil.

And the plot brought some homages to the defunct series dedicated to the character on Netflix.

The episode saw Jen (Tatiana Maslany) and Matt on opposite sides of the same court case, while frog-man Eugene Patillio (Brandon Stanley) sued Luke Jacobson (Griffin Matthews) for making a costume apparently defective.

Eventually, Eugene kidnaps Luke to force him to make a better costume, tricking Jen and Matt into dressing up as She-Hulk and Daredevil to stop him.

As the two have agreed to partner up, Jen is surprised by Matt’s secret identity, and when she asks him if she should call him Daredevil, he confirms… Then the score of opening of the Netflix series, composed by John Paesano, is briefly sung. .

Another reference is when Daredevil fights Eugene’s henchmen in a dimly lit hallway, as well as one of the most memorable scenes in his series.

But, before he can finish the fight, Jen intervenes by breaking the hallway roof and finishing off some of the henchmen.

The plot follows Jennifer Walters (Maslany), a lawyer specializing in superhuman legal cases, begins to gain Hulk-like powers after receiving an emergency blood transfusion from Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), her cousin.

“This new comedy series sees Bruce Banner help his cousin Jennifer Walters when she needs an emergency blood transfusion and guess what? She also receives her powers. Tatiana Maslany will play Jennifer, who is a lawyer specializing in superhuman legal cases, while Mark Ruffalo returns as the Hulk alongside Tim Roth the Abomination.

The cast also includes Jameela Jamil, Ginger Gonzaga, Griffin Mathews, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Josh Segarra. Rapper Megan Thee Stallion will make appearances in the production.
