Actress Scarlett Johansson has spoken publicly for the first time about her lawsuit against Disney for the simultaneous release of ‘Black Widow’ both in theaters and in streaming Disney +.

And in a quick interview with Associate Press, the heroine’s performer reflected on the importance of recognizing her worth, without fear of being banned from the industry for claiming her rights.

“I think it’s important, in general, to recognize your own worth and stand up for yourself. And you know, I’ve been in this industry for a long time. It’s been almost 30 years and a lot has changed in those 30 years. In the past I would even think sometimes, “Oh my God, if I fight back, will I work again or will I be blacklisted?” “But fortunately, the times are changing”.

During a tribute to actress Scarlett Johansson (“Black Widow”) at the 35th Annual American Cinematheque, Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, did not spare the praise of the artist, and has also took the opportunity to reveal that he is working on a “secret Marvel project” by his side.

While he didn’t reveal many details, Feige made it clear that the project had nothing to do with her character Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow. He noted that Johansson was the first Marvel actress to executive produce the solo film “Black Widow,” a role she will also fill in the upcoming project.

The controversial legal battle between actress Scarlett Johansson and the Disney Company is now over, with a genuinely positive legal settlement for both sides.

The deadline reveals that Johansson was given $ 40 million to terminate the contract, on top of the $ 20 million she received in cash.

The website claims the actress asked for $ 50 million in the lawsuit, but accepted it for $ 10 million less.

Estimates indicate that the actress lost around $ 30 million with the studio’s decision to release the film as well.

Representatives of the actress and the studio announced the solution to the obstacle, stressing the satisfaction of having reached a common agreement. Through the official statement, the actress also revealed whether she would return to work with the company, with which she enjoyed an excellent working relationship until the start of the process.

“I am happy to have resolved our differences with Disney. I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done together over the years and really appreciate my creative relationship with the team. I look forward to continuing our collaboration for years to come.

Disney Studios President Alan Bergman also reflected on the end of the process, revealing that Johansson already has a new project in development with the company:

“I am delighted that we have reached a mutual agreement with Scarlett Johansson regarding Black Widow. We appreciate your contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and look forward to working together on a number of future projects, including Disney’s Tower of Terror.

Johansson sued Disney alleging that the company violated the contract by offering the film simultaneously in streaming and in theaters.

Criticism | Black Widow is an electrifying spectacle of action scenes, featuring very complex subjects
