‘Sausage Party’, an adult animation that ended up shocking conservative audiences by showing sequences in which food had sex, will win a series on Prime Video.
Something at least curious, since around here the production became police news, when Procon-SP determined a fine of 2 million reais to HBO for showing the feature film, not suitable for children under 18 years old.
According to Variety, the series will be called “Sausage Party: Foodtopia” (in the original), and much of the movie’s voice cast will be returning. In other words, names like Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz and Edward Norton will all be part of the series. Will Forte, Sam Richardson, Natasha Rothwell and Yassir Lester are the newcomers.
“Film was once a superior art to television, and we have humbly reached the pinnacle of what can be done in film with our masterpiece, Sausage Party. But now that movies are dead and TV is the queen of entertainment, we’ve decided to continue our kitchen crew’s epic adventures in Foodtopia, soon to become a legendary TV event. It has feelings, double the puns and triple the sex between food. In other words, it’s all the world needs right now,” said Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, producers of the show.
Vernon Sanders, Head of Global TV at Amazon, also commented, “Sausage Party was a unique entry into the world of animation, incredibly fun and outrageous. We are thrilled to be working with Seth, Evan and their team at Point Grey, along with our partners at Annapurna Television and Sony Pictures, to bring a new look at this world that will come to life so vividly for our customers.
