“Santa Inc.”: Christmas Animation Starring Sarah Silverman Gets Official Trailer, Release Date

HBO Max has released the official trailer for “Santa Inc.,” an adult Christmas animation starring Sarah Silverman (“Wrecks Ralph”).

Additionally, it has been revealed that production is slated to begin on December 2 on the platform.

The first season will consist of eight episodes and supervised by Lionsgate. Alexandra Rushfield (‘Shrill’) joins as showrunner.

The plot revolves around Candy Smalls (Silveman), the North Pole’s most prolific elf. When Santa’s natural successor is poached by Amazon on Christmas Eve, Candy decides to follow her dreams and become the first Santa in history.

Seth Rogen will give the floor to Santa Claus. The rest of the cast include Leslie Grossman, Gabourey Sidibe, Craig Robinson, Nicholas Braun, Maria Bamford and Joel Kim Booster.

Silverman is no stranger to the animation world: In addition to credits in acclaimed productions such as “Bob’s Burgers”, “Crank Yankers”, “The Simpsons”, “Futurama” and “Robot Chicken”, she acquired even more recognition for playing irreverent running princess Vanellope von Schweetz in the ‘Wrecks Ralph’ franchise.

Rogen, meanwhile, is a famous comedian whose filmography includes “It’s the End”, “Unlikely Couple”, “Slightly Pregnant” and “Sausage Party”. Most recently, he played Pumbaa in the live-action remake of “The Lion King”.
