The controversial and popular Brazilian player Romário will win his own documentary series, already developed by the streaming platform HBO Max.
Entitled “Romário, o Cara”, the production will guide the viewer through the journey of what is still considered by football fans to be one of the great heroes of the four-time Brazilian champion of the 1994 World Cup.
With each new episode, stories from the past and secrets will be unveiled, presenting a more intimate and in-depth look at one of the most controversial figures in Brazilian sport.
More than just football, the production will also focus on Romário’s personal dramatic arc over the years. For this, interviews with sports personalities that permeate the episodes will be used. Among those interviewed are Carlos Alberto Parreira, Bebeto, Roberto Baggio, Pep Guardiola, Neymar, in addition to other personalities who have marked the history of football, and Mônica Santoro, Romário’s ex-wife.
It will be the largest series about a football player ever produced, with recordings made in nine countries.
The documentary series will consist of six episodes, which will air in the first half of 2022 on HBO Max.
