“Riverdale”: Season 5 return episode wins official synopsis; Check!

The CW has released the official synopsis for “Strange Bedfellows”, the 11th installment of the fifth season of “Riverdale” which also marks the return of the series after a long hiatus.

In the plot, “Following Hiram’s escape from prison, Archie leads the group to round up the other convicts who have also escaped. Tabitha asks Betty for help when she realizes that Jughead is missing. When Penelope returns, Cheryl is suspicious of her true intentions.

The episode will air on August 11.

Created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the series is based on the Archie Comics comics.

The quiet little town of Riverdale is devastated when it is struck by the mysterious death of Jason Blossom, a popular high school student and member of the town’s most powerful family. Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Jughead Jones, Cheryl Blossom, Josie McCoy and their friends explore the issues of everyday life in the small town as they investigate Jason Blossom’s case. But to solve this mystery, the group of friends must uncover the secrets buried deep on the surface of the city, as Riverdale may not be as innocent as it seems.

The cast includes KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, Madchen Amick, Luke Perry, Ashleigh Murray, Skeet Ulrich, Casey Cott, Charles Melton, Mark Consuelos and Vanessa Morgan.
