Richard Donner, director of some of the most iconic films of the 1970s and 1980s such as “The Goonies”, The Superman with Christopher Reeve and “Lethal Weapon”, has died at the age of 91.
According to Deadline, Donner died on Monday. The information was confirmed by his wife, producer Lauren Schuler Donner, and his sales manager.
The cause of death has not been revealed.
Donner was working on the ‘Lethal Weapon 5’ sequel, he revealed in an interview with The Telegraph a few months ago.
“This is the last movie. It’s both a privilege and a duty to put the franchise to sleep. In fact, it’s exciting! It’s the last one I promise.
Danny Glover and Mel Gibson would reprise their roles as Roger Murtaugh and Martin Riggs.
