Success is success. And in Hollywood, it’s this little word that guarantees a long career on the big screen. This is why there are actors who, whatever their role, carry with them a large audience that watches whatever production they direct, as is the case of actors Julia Roberts and George Clooney, who arrive this week in Brazilian cinemas with the romantic comedy ‘Ingresso Para o Paraíso’, their fifth collaboration on the big screen.

Lily (Kaitlyn Dever) is a graduate of law school, and for her graduation ceremony, she invites her parents, Georgia (Julia Roberts) and David (George Clooney), although their meeting could trigger some stings during the event, after all, the two have been married for five years and divorced for nineteen, but even though a lot of time has passed, the two can’t stand being in the same environment together. After graduation, Lily travels to Bali with her best friend, Wren (Billie Lourd), to rest, before taking over the Chicago law firm. However, the perfect vacation brings her to Gédé (Maxime Bouttier), a young seaweed farmer whom she falls in love with and decides to marry. The news surprises her parents, who decide to put their differences aside for the first time and follow a plan to dissuade their daughter from the crazy idea of marrying a stranger and living in a distant land.

There is no doubt that Ol Parker’s film is an excellent production, and it fills your eyes with the heavenly setting, the beautiful locations, and the presentation of local culture through the pre-wedding customs of the Gede core. The technique is very reminiscent of the director’s biggest production, “Mamma Mia: Lá Vamos Nos De Novo!”, also shot on the beaches of the Prestígio chocolate commercial, with heavily tanned people contrasting with a cast of visitors who at the same time times are respectful of local customs, do not be afraid of the tourist air. Add to that the pseudo-romance in the older core as the focus is supposed to be on youthful love. The same theme of the musical in Greece is repeated here in Indonesia in the screenplay by Daniel Pipski.

What really captivates the viewer is the unbeatable chemistry between Julia and George; it is visible in all the scenes of the two together, the quality of the film gives a high, and when the accent returns to the young people, the intrigue falls, sometimes, even failing to develop conflicts created by the intrigue itself- same. Together, Julia and George star in adorable scenes, including behind the scenes, revealed in post-credits scenes, proving why they’re two of Hollywood’s most renowned actors and why they’ve already had five successful partnerships in theaters. .

With a stunning setting and a couple of devoted actors, “Ticket to Paradise” is a lighthearted romantic comedy in the style of “Afternoon Session”, in the most invigorating atmosphere of a dream holiday. It’s nice to see Julia’s smile and George’s charisma back on the big screen, albeit in a revamped story; they alone are worth going to the cinema.
