Raimondo Todaro recalled a very difficult moment in his past, when anxiety even took him away from sleep. Here’s what Professor Amici was doing and how he overcame it.
It would seem impossible that a dance champion like Raimondo Todaro, who won the Italian championship 18 times in the standard, Latin American or combined disciplines, could be afraid of something. Yet it was Amici’s professor himself who revealed to Lorella Cuccarini that for weeks she had been practically losing sleep due to anxiety.

One could say that Raimondo Todaro and dance are one. His parents were passionate about dancing and often frequented the dance halls of the Castelnuovo del Garda region. When they also started taking lessons, the teacher suggested that their two children also start dancing. At the time, Raimondo Todaro was five and a half years old.
“Milly Carlucci is a mother to me, and she knows it”
At the age of nine, Raimondo Todaro won the first championship. Along with the passion for football and the role of full-back, the experience of Dancing with the Stars happened really by chance. The brother had signed up for the audition and asked her to come with him. Curiously, it was Raimondo himself who passed the selections, and his brother returned home.

The two Todaro brothers opened a dance school together near Catania. Since Raimondo worked in television, today it is Salvatore who takes care of their business best. Both at Dancing with the Stars and Amici, Raimondo has always felt at home, and he is sorry for the way the relationship with Milly Carlucci was interrupted.
Raimondo Todaro, no one would have said it: anxiety breeds performance
Maria De Filippi is also like a mother for Raimondo Todaro. The dancer remembers with emotion when he separated for several months from Francesca Tocca. The Mediaset host was the only one to call him every day for about two hours. He also called him to his office with Tocca to do what Todaro called “a three-part episode of There’s mail for you”. Raimondo Todaro’s real nightmare was his participation in the program Conte et Qui: having to sing plunged him into a state of uncontrollable anxiety. It was then that he understood what it meant to not be able to sleep. Francesca woke up from time to time asking him to rest a bit, but the fear of the performance made her want to escape.
