Ray interacting with celebrities through cooking is a source of comfort for everyone. It’s surprising that the show is coming to an end now.

Ray revealed that the renowned show would be ending after 17 seasons. There’s also a reason why one of the longest shows is ending its run.

Ray noted that she had chosen the path and that it is now time for her to embark on the next thrilling chapter of her broadcasting career. And there is no doubt that she will be presented with numerous opportunities.

She said in a press release, “In my more than 20-plus years in television I have had 17 wonderful seasons working in daytime television with Rachael.

However, I’ve made the decision that it’s time for me to move on to the next exciting chapter in my broadcast career. My passions have evolved from the talk-show format production and syndication model to a platform unencumbered by the traditional rules of distribution.”

Ray was however enthusiastic about introducing and developing emerging and fresh epicurean talent across all platforms.

She also indicated that she is thrilled to commit all of her efforts to her newly announced production arm, Free Food Studios.

She continued, “I am truly excited to be able to introduce and develop new and upcoming epicurean talent on all platforms.

That is why I am looking forward to putting all my energies into my recently announced production arm, Free Food Studios. Thank you to all of our Rachael daytime show partners, crew, and affiliates, and the wonderful years we all worked together.”

Ray described the show in 2021 as having a family feel to it. There are several repetitive celebrities, and the team feels a strong connection with them.

“We like that family feeling, and I think that’s evident when we do have celebrities on, and you often see the same folks over and over again. We feel close to them, we feel like we built something together.”

CBS Media Ventures president Steve LoCascio also commented on the show’s conclusion. He noted that they will miss Rachael on the show every day and will continue to be family.

“When Rachael debuted her show 17 years ago, she was a game-changer in the daytime space. She made cooking accessible to the masses, taught viewers simple solutions on how to improve their lives, and coaxed great stories out of celebrity guests with her relatable down-to-earth demeanor.
