Robert KingPokémon has achieved an incredible and very difficult feat, which very few franchises even come close to achieving, which must remain relevant for 25 years without a break. It’s not for anyone, really. In honor of the anniversary of this pocket monster saga, this weekend’s trick is a marathon of the Pokémon movies available in streams. Check!
Netflix
One really cool Netflix gadget is having the first season of the anime in its catalog. So if you don’t want to watch the movies, you can marathon the first 50 chapters of the saga this weekend. A while back they had some good movies in the franchise as pokemon go account for sale, but today they have little Pokémon related content. However, two stand out.
Pokémon The Movie: I choose you!
The 20th film in the franchise has been released with a world premiere in theaters and a lot, but a lot of nostalgia. This adventure is a sentimental tribute to the entire Ash Ketchum and Pikachu saga in theaters. The story begins at the very beginning of the Pokémon anime adventure, with Ash waking up on his 10th birthday to choose his first Pokémon and begin his journey. Since he’s late, it’s only Pikachu, who doesn’t like him. However, as the film progresses, the two understand each other as they search for the legendary Ho-Oh. Much of the original story is rewritten and edited to make the tribute smoother, but at no point was this a movie sold as a retcon, so don’t be frustrated with the changes and have fun. with cute plot.
Pokémon the Movie: Everyone’s Power
Enjoy watching:
Released to promote Pokémon games: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee !, the twenty-first film in the franchise is a continuation of that alternate reality of “I Choose You!” and takes Ash Ketchum to the Wind Festival in the seaside town of Fula, where locals hold these festivities in anticipation of the legendary Lugia’s appearance. In the city, Ash and Pikachu gain attention with their daring way of fighting, and they end up meeting Lisa, a young man who is not very good with Pokemon and is learning to deal with his Eevee. They come together to help solve the mystery of a little girl who wanders the forests and claims to have seen a new Pokémon in the area. The big highlight, however, is the incredible coastal aspect that is very characteristic of Japanese entertainment.
HBO GO
Finally, you couldn’t make this list without pointing out the most recent and popular movie from the Pokémon universe, right? And it’s only available on HBO streaming.
Pokémon: Detective Pikachu
The first live action in the Pokémon universe is also one of the cutest stories involving pocket monsters. In the plot, we accompany a boy and a talking Pikachu who meet and decide to help themselves with their problems. Played by Ryan Reynolds, Detective Pikachu went through trauma and completely lost his memory. So much so that even he does not know why the boy managed to figure it out. Tim Goodman (Justice Smith) is a boy rejected by Pokémon and his friends. He discovers that his father, a city policeman, has mysteriously disappeared. While Tim searches for his missing father, he gains the company of the cheeky Pokemon and budding reporter Lucy Stevens (Kathryn Newton) to try and find out his father’s whereabouts.
Telecine
Telecine streaming is most suited to fans today as it includes more than half of the Pokémon movies ever released. Fans probably love everyone, but it’s up to us to pick a few here.
Pokémon the Movie – Mewtwo Strikes Back
Any Pokémon fan knows for sure what’s going on in this movie, but it’s still worth revisiting, especially if you keep following the anime to this day. This is because you can clearly see the differences in the show over these more than two decades, both in the storytelling and in the quality of the animation. The story tells of the revolt of Mewtwo, a legendary Pokémon created in the laboratory by scientists who wanted to achieve perfection, regardless of the life of the creature they were making. Full of hatred, the Pokémon breaks free, destroys facilities and travels the world in an attempt to understand the purpose of its life. Then, confused and drowned in his own arrogance, he sets out to be the best Pokémon trainer in the world, inviting some of the best trainers to an epic battle on his island. What he didn’t expect, however, is that Ash, Mew, and their friends show up there to thwart their plans with their love for Pokémon. It’s a film full of philosophical metaphors and a lot of fun, plus a moment that has already made a lot of grown men cry.
Pokémon the Movie 2000
Following on from the original, we have an overdose of Legendary Pokémon. The plot takes Ash, Misty, and Tracey to an island during a traditional seaside festival. There they meet the locals and a girl very interested in Ash, including making the first mention of sex in the Pokémon universe – it’s a bit hit and miss, but it took me by surprise when I watched the movie again. to make this story – but the boy is only interested in one thing: Pokémon. While on the island, the world’s ecosystem crumbles because of collector Giraldan, who captured the three legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres to attract the attention of the almost never seen Lugia. With a much more dynamic pace than its predecessor, Pokémon 2000 is pure fun.
Pokémon: Movie 3 – The Fate of the Unknown
In Pokémon 3, which was not as successful as its predecessors, Ash Ketchum is traveling through the Johto region, when he stumbled upon a mysterious ice castle. When his mother is kidnapped by the legendary Pokémon Entei, the boy will do anything to try to invade this castle and get his beloved mother back. The functionality is different from the show’s regular episodes precisely because it has a darker tone and deeper drama. Plus, of course, there are plenty of battles between the pocket monsters, including a clash between Charizard and Entei, one of the coolest in the franchise.
Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew
Moving on from the third to the eighth movie, we come to the darkest mystical adventure in the Pokémon franchise. This is because they are bringing the legendary Mew back to help in this ‘vintage’ plot about a legendary knight, the rare Pokemon Lucario and the Mysteries of Royalty from the city of Rotha, where there is a legend about a special trainer who will get to solve the problems and finally bring peace to the region. As it happens in the middle of the journey through the Battle of the Frontier, Ash, Misty, Max and Brock arrive in Rotha and end up getting involved in this insane plot, marked by a more sepia color and a very dark tone. It’s really different from every other movie, mainly because it has this epic subplot of a knight connected to his Pokemon through the aura.
Pokémon Ranger and the legendary Sea Temple
The ninth film in the franchise marks the transition from Hoenn’s reaction to Sinnoh. He talks about Pokémon Rangers, a type of “activist” in the Pokémon world, who fight for the preservation of the environment of the seas in this universe. The plot revolves around a mysterious egg that emerges in the ocean and begins to alter the behavior of aquatic Pokémon. A villain wants to get it for his collection, but a Ranger arrives first and takes the egg to his trailer. There, Ash and his friends drink water after being rescued in the desert. Then, overnight, May creates a connection with the Egg, which brings her back to a view of Kyogre Underwater Castle. If we had to define this film in one word, it would be: DOIDEIRA. In addition to being practically all in the water, he tackles this issue of activism, big business and even has an “If I were you” moment with Team Rocket.
Pokémon: Darkrai’s Nightmare
Legendary Pokémon tend to play with the elements and the balance of nature. That begins to change in Hoenn, when legendary aliens enter the scene. Now, in Sinnoh, the situation changes completely, since the Legendary Pokémon in this region are literally gods. In this story, Palkia and Dialga clash. As they manipulate space and time respectively, this confrontation should mark the beginning of the apocalypse, with a real collapse of reality itself. It’s then up to Ash, Dawn, and Brock to join the so-called evil Pokémon Darkrai in trying to stop these two Titans from crumbling dimensions and destroying all existing life.
Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life
After Ash prevented existence from collapsing, there would be no way for the ten year old to go any further, would there? Wrong! In Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life, the legendary of the time is none other than Arceus, the Pokémon who is equivalent to the Christian god of this universe. “Ah, but it’s not that much.” How could I not? He is defined as “The Creator of Heaven and Earth”, and people await his return to “do justice to humans”. As if that weren’t enough, its appearance is still white and gold, predominant colors in depictions of angels and the papal tunic itself. Either way, Ash and Pikachu make their way to the ruins of Michina, where legends say he would appear to retrieve the Gem of Life, which was stolen from him many years ago. The thief’s heir decides to return the gem to avoid further problems. However, Arceus destroys it upon discovering that it is a fake, shocking the boys who have seen it all. Angry, Arceus begins to destroy everything. The parade is so heavy that Palkia and Dialga appear and send Ash and his friends back in time, in a desperate attempt to stop the thief from stealing the stone and starting the whole mess. Yeah, and you think “Time Assault” was an original idea from Avengers: Ultimatum.
