A “Pirates of the Caribbean” star thinks Johnny Depp should return as Jack Sparrow.
Kevin McNally, who played Captain Jack’s loyal first mate, has revealed he has never been abusive or aggressive on set following his ex-wife Amber Heard’s allegations.
“I’ve never seen a shadow of a dark side in Johnny. I see a great humanitarian and a beautiful human being. I see no obstacle in his coming back to play Jack Sparrow. I think there is. had a general feeling that without Jack there is no Pirates franchise. And there is probably a lot of truth to that. But now there have been doubts about it, certainly why not have more Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I was thinking about it the other day and you can easily think of stories where maybe someone looks for Jack and walks up to Mr. Gibbs and says, “How could I find Jack? Of people in search of the legendary Jack Sparrow. You can certainly keep these names alive, even in a movie that doesn’t necessarily have the characters in it. [originais]. “
It’s no secret that Captain Jack Sparrow is one of the most beloved characters in Johnny Depp’s career.
The character first appeared in “The Curse of the Black Pearl” (2003) and bid farewell in the last film, titled “The Revenge of Salazar” (2017).
And now that Disney is developing a reboot with Margot Robbie, it’s clear Depp will never be playing the character again.

Still, the star told MovieWeb that he won’t be relinquishing the role.
During a press conference at the San Sebastian Film Festival, Depp revealed that he will continue to bring the pirate to life, if only by hosting costume parties for children.
“When I’m asked about ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ I say I can go to someone’s house and say ‘I can play your kid’s birthday party in a costume.’ I guess that’s the positive side of bringing in characters like this Captain Jack or whatever character I’ve been lucky enough to bring to life. “
He continued:
“I don’t need a business to do this. I can do it myself and no one can take it away from me. It is the greatest pleasure to be Jack Sparrow. I can travel with Captain Jack in a box, literally. For me, what matters is to bring smiles everywhere I go.
Recall that the script for the new ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ is written by Christina Hodson (‘Birds of Prey’).
The feature film will not be the reboot of the saga in question. The story will be “totally original” and with new characters and, following in the footsteps of the original productions, will be inspired by the attractions of Disneyland and Disney World.
The news also reiterates that it’s not the only movie in the developing pirate universe. House Mouse is also working on a reboot with screenwriters Ted Elliott and Craig Mazin. The works do not interfere with each other.
Bruckheimer will be responsible for both projects.
