‘Parasite’: Tilda Swinton leaves the cast of the HBO series
According to Variety, Oscar-winning actress Tilda Swinton has confirmed that she will no longer be a part of HBO Max’s “Parasite” series (via Collider).
In an interview with the website, the actress said, “I don’t think I’m a part of it, but I’m very happy to be supporting [pelo projeto]”.
Swinton had been cast in the project in February 2020 and would play the female lead in the production, alongside Mark Ruffalo. Further details of his departure were not disclosed.
While appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Adam McKay, who is in charge of the project alongside the original film’s director, Bong Joon-ho, brought some news about the series, believing that it will be part of the same universe as the Oscar-winning feature film.
“It’s an original series, which is in the same universe as the film. But it’s an original series that lives in the same world.”

Pre-production work on the miniseries is already underway and according to the director, the project is in full swing:
“We’re having a lot of fun. We just set up our room with some amazing writers. I basically did all of the sketching for the show with director Bong during quarantine, under his supervision.
In a recent interview with The Wrap, Joon-ho said the series will run for six hours and show the same story as the movie, but in more detail.
“When I started the script, a lot of ideas came up that I had to put aside because I couldn’t fit them all into two hours of film. Everything is saved on my iPad. My goal with this mini-series is to make a six-hour movie.

The production follows a young man and his unemployed family. They end up becoming obsessed with the life of another family. Something happens and this helpless clan finds itself in big trouble.
The cast includes Song Kang-ho, who worked with the director on ‘The Host’ (2006) and ‘Ship of Tomorrow’ (2013), and Choi Woo-shik, from ‘Zombie Invasion’ (2016) and ‘Okja’ .
