2020 has been a powerful year for the streaming platform Netflix and nine of the 10 most searched series on Google throughout the year belong to the streaming giant. The information was shared by the company itself.
According to the data collected, the nine original Netflix series that have been most searched are “ La mafia des tigres ”, “ La Casa de Papel ”, “ Cobra Kai ” (the first two seasons developed by YouTube Red and the third, which already belongs to streaming), “The Umbrella Academy”, “Emily in Paris”, “Ozark”, “The Queen’s Gambit”, “Outer Banks” and “Locke & Key”.
The only serial production in Google’s Top 10 that is not owned by Netflix is precisely the reality show Big Brother Brasil, which took second place in the search site’s Most Wanted list.
In terms of movies, only two Netflix originals made the most searched list on Google in 2020. They are: “365 Days” – which topped “Tenet” in searches – and “Enola Holmes”. The latter even surpassed the big blockbusters, such as “Mulan” and “Birds of Prey”.
Keep in mind that Netflix continues to invest in its production of original content and recently confirmed that a new movie will be released each week through the streaming platform.
