Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro’s new film Nightmare Alley failed in its box office debut.

In direct competition with the phenomenon of “Spider-Man: No Return Home” – which became the third-largest world premiere in cinema HISTORY – Guillermo del Toro’s feature film was eclipsed and forgotten by audiences.

Terror debuted at a paltry $ 2.9 million in the United States – which is a catastrophic start for production budgeted at $ 60 million.

Remember that the feature film will be released in national cinemas on January 27.

Like the original, the new feature will also be based on the book written by William Lindsay Gresham.

The first adaptation was released in 1947 and directed by Edmund Goulding. The classic noir tells the story of an ambitious young man who begins to have a relationship with a psychiatrist even more corrupt than him. The two get along well destroying people’s lives, but soon begin to manipulate each other.
