‘Night Country’, new season of ‘True Detective’ starring Jodie Foster, begins filming

HBO has revealed that filming for “True Detective: Night Country,” the new season of the series, which will star Jodie Foster (“Silence of the Lambs”), has started well.

The company revealed with the announcement a snippet of the script for the show’s 1st episode. Check:

Foster and Kali Reis (“Catch the Fair One”) will star. The cast will also include John Hawkes, Christopher Eccleston, Fiona Shaw, Finn Bennett and Anna Lambe.

The plot will take place during the long winter that settles in Ennis, Alaska, after the disappearance without a trace of six men operating the Tsalal Arctic Research Station. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) must confront the darkness that inhabits them and uncover the cursed truths buried beneath the eternal ice.

Issa López, who stood out with the horror ‘Tigers Are Not Afraid’ (2017), will write, produce, direct and assume the position of showrunner.

Additionally, Jodie Foster will executive produce in addition to starring in the new season, and director Barry Jenkins (Moonlight) will also executive produce the project.
