In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Nicholas Hoult (‘The Menu’) was full of praise for the work of actor Nicolas Cage, who will portray the iconic Dracula in the horror comedy ‘Rendfield’. Hoult revealed that Cage will bring an original version of the character, which will set him apart from the rest.
“I am very happy that the public sees [a performance do Nicolas Cage como Drácula]🇧🇷 It’s original, but it’s also based on many elements of the character’s history and lore. It’s very interesting and even bizarrely enhanced with a comic horror tone. I am very excited.”
He adds, “I don’t think there are two more iconic characters than Dracula and Nicolas Cage. Putting them all together and getting to share scenes with him, watching him bring the character to life, was so much fun. It’s beautiful to see his dedication, his love for comedy. As a person, Cage is a very pure soul to be around.
The film, which will focus on the servant of the legendary vampire Dracula, will be released on April 14, 2023.

Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men: First Class”) will star. Nicolas Cage (‘Mandy: Vengeance’) will play Count Dracula.
The cast will also include Awkwafina (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”), Adrian Martinez (“Double Strike”), Shohreh Aghdashloo (“The Expanse”), James Moses Black (“24 Hours: Legacy”) and Ben Schwartz (‘Sonic: The Movie’).
Chris McKay (“The War of Tomorrow”) is directing.
The plot is based on an idea created by Robert Kirkman (“The Walking Dead”), who will serve as the film’s producer.
Kirkman recently revealed that the movie will be fun and “extremely violent.”
“We’re making a really cool movie for Universal [Pictures] which will focus on Renfield. It’ll be a story about him as Dracula’s minion, and we’ll show how horrible the job is. It will be a funny and extremely violent comedy. It will be very bloody.
The screenplay is because of Ryan Ridley (“Rick and Morty”).
In Bram Stoker’s original novel, Renfield was an insane patient in an insane asylum who was diagnosed with insanity; but, in fact, he was a servant of Dracula. The feature film should be set in the present rather than being constructed as a period film.
