WhatsApp has just been updated with a long-promised feature: here’s how to set it up on smartphones
The messaging application fears competition and does everything to please its customers, which is why online has also disappeared as many demanded to guarantee confidentiality. Now you can configure it easily.

Removal of blue checkmarks, removal of last access, only one annoyance remains: “What are you doing online and you’re not answering me?” Who are you talking to?”. How many times have we been asked this question that we didn’t have all this desire to answer? Fortunately, WhatsApp has also thought of this by giving the option to remove the status ‘ online’ to those who don’t want to be particularly bothered by indiscreet questions.
Thanks to the new update, in fact, you can easily set the option to hide online status when you are actually on WhatsApp. First, you need to update the app. If you don’t have the auto-update option, just do it manually by searching the app name on the play store or apple store, depending on your android or iOs device and click on update, if it is already available for your smartphone. .
Whatsapp, how to enable setting to hide online status

Once the update is installed, the procedure to be able to hide your online status is very simple, and quite similar for Android and iOS systems. In particular, with your iPhone, you just need to click on Whatsapp Settings, then Account, then Privacy, and click on the words ‘last seen and online’. This will open another page which will give the possibility to define who can see the last access: everyone, my contacts, my contacts except… (with possibility to exclude specific contacts), nobody. Once the choice is made, at the bottom there will also be the one ‘who can see when I am online’ with only the choices ‘Everyone’ or ‘Same as last accessed’.
As with last seen and blue ticks, the online status option also has a specific rule: by not sharing it you won’t even be able to see other people’s. If that’s the price to pay to avoid prying questions, then it’s well worth it.
