‘Nancy Drew’: season 4 will be the LAST of the series

Kennedy McMann has one more case to solve before the official end of the beloved “Nancy Drew” series.

On Wednesday, October 26, The CW officially announced the end of production after the already confirmed 4th season (via ComicBook.com).

“We are honored and proud to have brought the iconic determination, individuality and resilience of ‘Nancy Drew’ to life, over a years-long collaboration with incredible talent in front of and behind the camera,” said showrunners Noga Landau and Melinda Hsu in an official statement. “Our hearts are filled with gratitude, knowing that we can close this chapter with intention, inclusion and kindness – and, of course, with plenty of twists, supernatural scares and romance along the way. We are especially indebted to our community of fans, whose connection to themes and stories means everything to us. Season four will be a reward for their continued love and support.

The next cycle is scheduled for early 2023.

Developed by Josh Schwartz, the series is based on the iconic character created by Edward Stratemeyer.

The new version of Nancy Drew focuses on the 18-year-old detective during the summer after her high school graduation. Though Nancy plans to leave her hometown to venture off to college, a family tragedy keeps her home for another year, and she finds herself caught up in a “chilling murder investigation” that leads her to uncover dark secrets along the way.

Kennedy McMann plays the main character. The cast also includes Tunji Kasim, Alvina August, Maddison Jaizani, Scott Wolf and Alex Saxon.
