Netflix has added today (07) to its extensive catalog the first chapter of the franchise ‘Minha Mãe é uma Peça’, a comedy starring Paulo Gustavo.
Remember the trailer:
The film was directed by André Pellenz.
Dona Hermínia (Paulo Gustavo) is a middle-aged woman, divorced from her husband (Herson Capri), who left her for a younger one (Ingrid Guimarães). Hyperactive, she does not let go of her children Marcelina and Juliano (Mariana Xavier and Rodrigo Pandolfo), without realizing that they are already very old. One day, after finding out that they considered her a nuisance, she decides to leave the house without telling anyone, leaving everyone, in one way or another, worried about what would have happened. They do not know that their mother went to visit their dear aunt Zélia (Sueli Franco) to express her present sorrows with her and to remember the good times of the past.
Despite mixed reviews, the feature became a box office success, grossing nearly R $ 46 million nationwide and resulting in two sequels.
Recalling that Gustavo died on May 4, 2021, due to complications from COVID-19. He leaves behind two one-year-old children, Romeo and Gaël, and her husband Thales Bretas, with whom he has been married since December 2015.
