Movie Weekend November 17-20 titles: Diabolik 2 debuts



Many titles are preparing to be released in cinemas on the weekend of November 17 to 20: among all Diabolik 2 – Ginko on the attack. Besides the return of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets to the big screen, Italian cinemas are full of new titles: let’s find out.

About a year after the first chapter, Diabolik 2 – Attack Ginko arrives in our neighborhood cinemas, the highly anticipated sequel to the film centered on the King of Terror and again produced by the Manetti Bros. To take up the torch from Luca Marinelli is Giacomo Gianniotti, who will fall under the mask of the protagonist. Alongside her will be Miriam Leone, Valerio Mastandrea and, as a new entry in the role of Altea, Monica Bellucci. The wait has finally come to an end: the film is indeed available in theaters from today, November 17. In addition to the new chapter based on the literary character born thanks to the sisters Angela and Luciana Giussani, many other titles will make their cinema debut on the weekend of November 17 to 20.

Not just Diabolik 2, the weekend of November 17-20 will see the theatrical release of The Prince of Rome, by Edoardo Falcone. Premiering at the Rome Film Festival, it stars Marco Giallini as the protagonist, Bartolomeo, a wealthy businessman, who aspires to be admitted into the nobility. In the cast, among others, also Sergio Rubini, Giulia Bevilacqua, Filippo Timi and Giuseppe Battiston. Also during the weekend, Sentimental Crossings by Claire Denis, with Oscar-winning performer Juliette Binoche and Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, by Lesley Manville, Jason Isaacs and Isabelle Huppert, among others, will also be released theatrically.


Presented in the Orizzonti section, on the occasion of Venezia79, Princess, by Roberto De Paolis, will also arrive in cinemas this weekend, focusing on the girl who gives the film its title, a young Nigerian prostitute who lives illegally in Italy. Another title, which anticipates the Christmas holidays and is in theaters today, is Le Spectacle de Noël, by Alberto Ferrari. In the casting, Raoul Bova, Serena Autieri, Francesco Pannofino, Tullio Solenghi, Ornella Muti, Alice Ferrari and Giulio Nunziante stand out. Also in the cinema, the grotesque horror-tinged comedy The Menu, by Mark Mylod. The film is graced by an all-star cast consisting of Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Fiennes, Nicholas Hoult, John Leguizamo, and Judith Light, among others.


Fulvio Risuleo’s Italian project Notte Fantasma is also hitting local cinemas this weekend, starring Edoardo Pesce. In addition, a feature film also intended for the little ones is making its debut, namely Belle et Sébastien – Next Generation by Pierre Coré, which changes the framework of the original story by transposing it into the present. Finally comes the Knebworth 22 cine-concert, which Liam Gallagher wanted to immortalize thanks to director Toby L. In short, a weekend full of outings.
