Tricks, lies and betrayals for an engaging family drama full of twists and turns: a new series starring Susan Sarandon is coming to Sky Monarch. The Oscar-winning performer will try out a new show, all to the rhythm of American country music.

He’s set to debut on Sky and air on NOW Monarch, the new series, starring Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon (Best Actress for Dead Man Walking, Thelma & Louise, The Client). Three years after her last stint on the small screen, formed by Ray Donovan, and five years after her crushing role as Bette Davis in Ryan Murphy’s Feud – which earned her an Emmy Award and Golden Globe nomination – the interpreter returns for lead a first- rate distribution. The series, whose official trailer has just been unveiled, will air every Wednesday on Sky Series with two episodes per week and will be available on demand. And the promo clip announced the release date.

For the Sony production, Monarch was born from an idea by Melissa London Hilfers. In 11 episodes set in Texas, the series tells the story of one of America’s brightest country music stars, Dottie Cantrell Roman (Sarandon). With her, her husband and country singer-songwriter Albie Roman (Trace Adkins, The Lincoln Lawyer, A Song for My Father).
