Illumination and Universal Pictures have released a new official teaser for “Minions 2: The Origin of Gru”, in a Christmas atmosphere.

The sequel will be released on July 2, 2021, almost a year after the original date.

Despite the hope that the situation will return to normal by July, the team behind the production could not complete their work on schedule due to the quarantine period and social distancing, which prevented the animators to complete the film.

Kyle Balda, Brad Ableson and Jonathan del Val are leading the sequel, which will focus on the first encounter between the adorable yellow animals and the dangerous villainous Gru (Steve Carrell).

Kevin Hart, Margot Robbie, Dave Bautista and Pierre Coffin complete the cast.
