Miami Beach and Biscayne Bay divide Downtown Miami from the Atlantic Ocean. It is a thriving contemporary city with a wealth of cultural attractions.

There’s always plenty to do in Miami, from the museums to the alleys of Little Havana. A must-see in the neighborhood is Miami Beach, located across the water and boasts a fantastic stretch of coastline, an Art Deco District, and a lively atmosphere. Everglades National Park is a popular day trip destination from Miami that is located nearby. With our list of the top tourist attractions in Miami, you can make travel plans and find the finest locations to visit.

Miami Beach

Miami Beach, separated from the mainland by several bridges and situated on a barrier island, is a diverse community that includes lengthy stretches of soft-sand beaches, vibrant entertainment districts, and peaceful residential sections. Many of the island’s best sights and activities may be found at South Beach, the historic and vibrant neighborhood in the southernmost part.

The Art Deco Historic District has pastel buildings with vintage neon signs from the 1930s and early 1940s and is one of Miami Beach’s main attractions. After reaching by private jet charter, this upscale tourist neighborhood has many coastal eateries, retail establishments, lodging options, and sunbathing spots.

  • Art Deco Historic District

Even if you have no interest in the beach, you should still visit Miami Beach’s Art Deco Historic District. This 1930s and 1940s architectural style dominated the fashionable South Beach neighborhood.

These unusual structures, including neon signs and various pastel colors, were constructed after a disastrous hurricane in 1926. Numerous restaurants and hotels, most of which have undergone exquisite restorations. Awnings on the lower level of these buildings shade outdoor dining spaces along several main roadways. Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue are the two main roads that go through the area.

Many of the Art Deco buildings are still in use as hotels and provide considerably more character than contemporary hotels if that’s what draws you to stay in one of these historic beauties. The two excellent choices are the more reasonably priced Hotel Breakwater South Beach and the National Hotel Miami Beach.

  • South Beach

South Beach, the always-active neighborhood, is situated at the southern end of Miami Beach. When many people plan a beach trip in Miami, this is what they envision. The sizeable beachfront area facing the ocean along Ocean Drive is one of the primary attractions. Among the most excellent beaches in Florida and the most popular beach in Miami, it becomes packed often in the summer.

Not only is this a location to see and be seen, but it’s also a spot to cool down in the shallow waters, swim, and enjoy the sun. A paved walkway, with Ocean Drive behind it, is set back from the shore. The Art Deco buildings that border the streets are home to various dining options and luxurious hotel suites. Numerous well-attended festivals and events take place on South Beach every year. It’s a nice area to explore or spend time on the beach during the day. It comes to life at night with restaurants and entertainment.

  • Vizcaya Museum and Gardens
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens – Museum Review | Condé Nast Traveler

Set on 28 acres, this National Historic Landmark served as the opulent winter residence of James Deering, a 20th-century businessman. The palace, constructed in 1916, has 34 rooms around a central courtyard. The Vizcaya project required more than 1,100 laborers and artisans to finish; many were imported from Europe to guarantee design accuracy.

The remarkable collection of European furniture and ornamental arts from the 15th to 19th century fills the Italian Renaissance-style mansion. Beautiful French and Italian fountains, ponds, and statues may be seen throughout the grounds and gardens. A complexly carved breakwater with female figures is situated at the base of the steps leading into Biscayne Bay.

  • Everglades National Park

Situated at a short distance from Miami, Everglades National Park safeguards one of Florida’s most distinctive natural characteristics. These 1.5 million-acre swamplands are home to birds, crocodiles, snakes, and alligators. Essentially, this entire region is a shallow river emptying into the ocean.

The park has boardwalks for observing animals, walking routes, and an educational Visitors Centre. The Anhinga Trail is one of the park’s most well-liked walking trails, starting at the Royal Palm Visitor Center. Though shorter than a mile, this route passes through areas where it is possible to spot alligators and other wildlife. This is a moderately strenuous, wheelchair-accessible path.

An airboat cruise is among the most fun ways to see the Everglades. These ferocious boat excursions transport guests into the streams and marshes to view alligators and other animals. In addition to transportation from your hotel to the park, the Miami Everglades Airboat Adventure with Transport half-day trip offers a 30-minute airboat ride, a live alligator show at the Everglades Alligator Farm, and transportation back to your hotel.

  • Bayside Marketplace

Featuring over 120 specialized tourist stores, a plethora of cafés and restaurants, and daily live entertainment, Bayside Marketplace is a spacious outdoor shopping center. Along with several distinctive, one-of-a-kind locations, visitors will also discover some well-known chain retailers. Both visitors and residents are drawn to the bazaar.

The mall overlooks docks and boats and is situated along Miami’s waterfront, as the name may suggest. A lot of folks just come here to take in the ambiance. From here, tour boats go to various sites throughout Biscayne Bay. A water taxi service to Miami Beach and nearby downtown hotels is also available.

The Skyviews Miami Observation Wheel is a brand-new attraction that has opened in Bayside Market. Standing 200 feet tall, this enormous Ferris wheel features 42 climate-controlled passenger gondolas and a VIP version with a glass floor. Throughout your fifteen-minute trip, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of Miami and Biscayne Bay.

Conclusion

With 40 stops, the three routes cover all the central locations: South Beach, Downtown Miami, Coral Gables, and Little Havana. The most convenient and all-encompassing way to see and experience the attractions of Miami is with a Miami Combo Tour, which includes City Sightseeing, a Biscayne Bay Cruise, and an Everglades Airboat Ride if you genuinely want to make the most of your time there.
