“MacGruber”: “MacGyver” parody with Will Forte gets a new backstage image; Check!

Thanks to Instagram, star Will Forte has revealed the first official behind-the-scenes image of “MacGruber,” a series that parodies the classic “MacGyver.”

Strong brings the main character to life.

The cast still consists of Sam Elliott as Perry, father of MacGruber; Laurence Fishburne as General Barrett Fasoose; Mickey Rourke as Brigade Commander Enos Queeth, production antagonist described as an eccentric and arrogant military man; and Kristen Wiig as Vicki St. Elmo, MacGruber’s ex-wife.

Directed by Jorma Taccone, the first season will consist of eight episodes on the Peacock streaming platform.

For those who don’t know, the series is based on a comedy setting from Saturday Night Live, which was previously adapted into the feature film “Run the Agent’s Back“, released 10 years ago.

After rotting in prison for a decade, patriot and greatest American hero MacGruber is released. Your mission: to defeat a villain from the past: Brigade Commander Enos Queeth. With the entire world in the crossfire, McGruber must race against time to defeat the forces of evil – only to discover that evil… could be inside.
