‘Lucifer’: creators talk about the challenges of season 6 and the arrival of a mysterious character

Originally, the “Lucifer” series would end in Season 5, with the main character transforming into God.

However, Netflix decided to end the plot in Season 6, and showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson announced the introduction of a mysterious character.

Previously, Brianna Hildebrand was previously advertised as the Rebel Angel Rory last season, with Merrin Dungey as Sonya, a police officer who forms a bond with Amenadiel.

But there will be a third newcomer.

In an interview with TV Line, Modrovich and Henderson said that:

“There’s a character coming in season six and he wasn’t in season five. He’s a completely new character, he’s never appeared before, ”Modrovich said.

When asked if he could give any clues about the new member’s role, Henderson added:

“He’s someone who seems to be able to turn everything upside down, but appearances can be deceptive.”

Sadly, the duo did not reveal more details on the mystery, obviously to raise public expectations.

And that won’t be the only change next season.

The outcome of ‘Lucifer’ would essentially be like Season 5, transforming the character of Tom Ellis into God.

When the renewal was confirmed, the creators admitted that the story would be open if it ended in Season 5 and simply wrote a new chapter.

“At the end of Season 5, we stopped at an easy point, in a creative way. When they said, ‘Let’s have another season’ we didn’t care because the 5th show ending Lucifer Becoming God and we realized it was a hook, an ending that left the door open for a sequel. We just need to adapt the plots, but the challenge will be to deliver an ending as beautiful as the 5th. “
