During a busy weekend at the box office, the animated “Lightyear” fell to fifth place, grossing just $17.7 million.
The film suffered a 65% drop in its second weekend in theaters – the second biggest drop for a Pixar film, behind ‘The Two Brothers: A Fantastic Voyage’ (-73%), released at the start of the COVID pandemic.
In the United States, the animation has already grossed $88.7 million. In the international market, it was $63.6 million.
In total, production already amounts to 152.3 million US dollars worldwide.
