“I think there’s a misconception about the perception that Agatha Christie’s books always use the same formula. Fans know it’s the exact opposite. Her books aren’t just about storylines and murders. She always changed gender. Under her formula of finding out who the killer is, she wrote spy thrillers, slashers, serial killers, gothic novels, and studies of human psychology. When I Did’ Between Knives and Secrets’ is the aspect that encouraged me to write more mysteries with Daniel [Craig] like Benoit Blanc – trying to emulate Christe and treating each film like a new book, with its own tone, ambition, purpose and… its own title,” said Rian Johnson, who is taking over as director.

Daniel Craig returns as Benoit Blanc in the sequel. The cast will also include Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Jessica Henwick, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Janelle Monáe, Madelyn Cline and Kate Hudson.

“I’m very lucky to have Rian in my life. He’s a great writer. This script came along and I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ I couldn’t believe he wanted me to do this. I dare not say it’s better than the first one, but I don’t know, it’s better to wait. I don’t want to take a chance. I know just that it’s different, and it’s amazing. There’s still the whole mystery side of Benoit Blanc, but it’s very different. I’m really excited about it all,” Daniel Craig said of the following.

Released in 2019, the first film became a smash hit at the box office, grossing over $300 million worldwide. Netflix has acquired the rights to the franchise, greenlighting TWO new movies.
