“King’s Man Inception,” a pre-sequel to the acclaimed action franchise, is one of the most anticipated movies of the year – but it looks like all the anticipation wasn’t worth it and s’ turned out to be a disappointment.
On social media, early reactions from critics indicate the feature film is “weird,” “forgettable” and “bad,” challenging Vaughn’s script and directing and commenting that the title does not enrich the franchise’s mythology .
To verify:
I saw King’s Man, it’s proof that Matthew Vaughn doesn’t understand what was so good about the first movie. This prequel cannot decide what it wants to be and suffers from it. That said, I could watch Ralph Fiennes spy stuff all day. Is it too late to make him James Bond? pic.twitter.com/C8dX29Ekx6

THE KING’S MAN is… weird. Tonally, it’s the craziest movie I’ve seen this year, it’s both serious and completely, totally silly. There’s also a deeply unsettling plot that the more I think about it, the more I hate. But Rasputin has superpowers, I guess?

“’King’s Man’ is… weird. Tone-wise, it’s the most animalistic movie I’ve seen this year, so it’s very serious and silly at the same time. He also has a very problematic narrative that the more I think about it, the more I hate him. But Rasputin has superpowers, I think?
I was not a fan of The King’s Man. I love the first two films and Vaughn’s work in general, but this prequel doesn’t particularly enrich that mythology. The action is fun when it happens but there isn’t a ton of it and the story is awkwardly rambling. I forgot it by the time it ended pic.twitter.com/0Wu9RQLqIs

Enjoy watching:
As someone who loves the first Kingsman movie and really enjoyed the second, all I really have to say about The King’s Man is… it’s bad. There is some neat action and fun performances, but the story and tone are messy and the “comedy” is downright horrible at times. pic.twitter.com/jhI5GZbRYm

THE KING’S MAN looks like two very different movies, 1917 in a KINGSMAN shell. The script looks like pages of two separate scripts mixed up. When there is action, it’s done well, but the villain implications are messy (to put it mildly). * Insert a shrug emoji *

“‘King’s Man’ looks like two movies in one, ‘1917’ covered with a ‘Kingsman’ shell. The script looks like a bunch of two scripts put together. When there’s action, it’s done well, but the villain implications are messed up (to be nice).
Although the new movie takes place long before the events of “Kingsman – Secret Service”, Vaughn revealed to Empire that the prequel will be linked to the events of “Kingsman 3”.
“Throughout the storyline of ‘King’s Man – The Origin’ we are planting the seeds and provoking what will happen in ‘Kingsman 3’. it’s gonna be something very different [dos outros filmes], but it will be of great importance for the future of the franchise.
Sadly, the filmmaker hasn’t revealed much about the plans surrounding the two films, but it’s possible that a secret revealed in the pre-sequel could be central to the third installment of the main franchise.
