In February, director Zack Snyder (“Army of the Dead”) revealed he was working on a new take on the classic King Arthur legend for theaters.
At the time, he hadn’t given many details about the project beyond confirmation.
But, during an interview with IMDb, the filmmaker said the film will be set in the western United States, as an Arthurian adaptation focused on North American culture.
“I have been working on this account of the Arthurian legend for a long time, it will be a story set in the western United States. My idea was to take Arthur’s mythology and adapt it to my cultural vision as an American.
He continued:
“The legend of King Arthur is literally the mythology of another people. Since I’m not English, but I love this story. So I was like, “What if I could reshape the plot without changing the main elements?” What if I make it into something like the mythology of America? Honestly, it’s interesting to imagine an epic arc reworked with the mythology I grew up with. Let’s see if things work out.
For now, Snyder is still in the early stages of the project and revealed that the script is not yet finalized, so there is no preview.
In the meantime, it should be remembered that “Army of the Dead – Las Vegas Invasion” is already available in the Netflix catalog.
