Kevin Feige talks about the biggest lessons learned from Phase 4

Marvel Studios revealed at Comic-Con its plans for Phases 5 and 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. These phases follow Phase 4, the first in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to work with series through Disney+, which translates to more hours of content, but shorter in terms of releases per year.

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, spoke quietly about the arrival of the “X-Men” in the Marvel Universe, concerning Jonathan Major’s Kang and the cornerstone of the multiverse saga. He also revealed the lessons he learned while planning and implementing the MCU’s fourth phase.

“I think we learn something from every project we do, but as we were planning, up until three years ago, phase four, which we didn’t think of everything but for the most part, we realized that this is very different from what we did in phases one, two and three, that there are more projects in fewer years and so it didn’t feel right, you’re not going not peak every 10 months in an Avengers movie,” Feige said.

Feige also explained how the build of these new MCU phases has changed from previous ones. He commented on how different the post-credits scenes will be, with different goals.

“The truth is, all the post-credits scenes are only ever about the future. There are scenes that complete the plot, like Captain America saying you have to learn patience, and sometimes you’re waiting for something that doesn’t. It’s not worth it. They’re still fun for us,” the producer said.
