‘Jurassic World’ Director Colin Trevorrow Talks Possible Crossover With ‘Fast and Furious’

Any movie buff knows that crossovers between hit franchises are very common, as happened with ‘Alien vs Predator’, ‘Godzilla vs Kong’, ‘Sadako vs Kayako’ and many more.

Some fans and even the “Jurassic World” cast have already expressed a desire to see the franchise merge with other hit titles.

But there are also some absurd ideas, like a crossover between dinosaur movies and the “Fast and Furious” saga, as both titles are owned by Universal Pictures.

And of course, director Colin Trevorrow ruled that out.

In an interview with Comic Book, the filmmaker was asked if he would be interested in seeing Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) try to run over a T-Rex, to which he replied:

“Of course not. Because I’m obviously the most serious filmmaker in the ‘Jurassic Park’ franchise. I think if someone were to watch these films ironically instead of seriously appreciating them, I don’t really know what to think. … Such an idea wouldn’t even have been allowed when I was a kid, you couldn’t make a movie like he was playing with various dolls. But now it’s like your dad owns a studio, you can record whatever you want.

In contrast, when the reporter suggested a crossover with the Purge franchise, Trevorrow seemed more excited.

“Wait a minute. That would be a really cool thing,” he joked.

Recall that “Jurassic World: Dominion” is about to reach the billion after having accumulated 974 million US dollars (Via Forbes) around the world this weekend.

Still, the most pessimistic predictions point to the film ending its run with $990 million, while other more optimistic ones put ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ making just over $1 billion at the worldwide box office after his race. .

This delicate balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether humans will remain the primary predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.

Emily Carmichael is writing the screenplay.

The film also stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard with Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, BD Wong, Omar Sy, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Mamoudou Athie, Campbell Scott, Scott Haze and Dichen Lachman.
