According to Deadline, the legendary Donnie Yen (“Mulan”) was the last cast member of “John Wick 4.”
Without many details revealed, we know that the actor will give life to an old friend of the main character (played by Keanu Reeves), who “shares the same story and the same enemies”.
Yen joins Rina Sawayama, previously announced. Ian McShane also returns for the sequel.
Recently, franchise creator and original screenwriter Derek Kolstad revealed to Collider that he won’t be returning for sequels.
At the time, the screenwriter of the first three films, dodged a concrete answer, but said he was excited about what will soon come to the acclaimed action saga:
“I’m not really involved in the fourth and fifth films. At some point, the studio will tell you that your creation is formed and you will wish them good luck. I am always close to Chad [Stahelski] and Dave [Leitch] and I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I can’t wait to see it.
‘John Wick 4’ is scheduled for release on May 27, 2022.

The 3rd film in the franchise, “John Wick: Parabellum”, became a box office hit and grossed $ 321.6 million worldwide – on a budget of $ 75 million.
