‘John Wick 4’ director Chad Stahelski has revealed it will be the longest-running film in the action franchise starring Keanu Reeves. In an interview with Collider, Stahelski was asked about the size of the fourth film in the “John Wick” franchise, and while he tried to deflect, he talked more.

“It’s bigger than the other three, but not that big,” admits Stahelski.

Recall that “John Wick: Back in the Game” lasts 101 minutes, while “John Wick: A New Day to Kill” lasts 122 minutes, while “John Wick 3: Parabellum” lasts 131 minutes. In other words, the fourth film will last at least two hours and twelve minutes in total. Someone bet on 1:30?

The filmmaker was also asked about the editing process and the degree of completion of the film. “We’re in the final stretch of production, and then we have our music and visual effects. But it’s the furthest I’ve ever been, this far into post-production. We love the music we have so far. We still have Tyler Bates writing about some of the greatest sequences.

John Wick (Keanu Reeves) faces his deadliest adversaries yet in the series’ fourth installment. As the price of his head continues to rise, Wick battles against the global high table as he seeks out the most powerful players in the underworld, from New York to Paris, Osaka and Berlin.

Recalling that Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rina Sawayama and Scott Adkins were also added to the cast of “John Wick 4”.

The sequel will also see the return of Laurence Fishburne as the King of Beggars, Lance Reddick as Charon, the Continental’s concierge, and Ian McShane as his manager, Winston.

Chad Stahelski is returning to direct and has promised a film worthy of the franchise:

“We’re happy with the action sequences and we don’t want to miss that. I want to be a better director, but that doesn’t mean the sequel will have less action,” he said.

The franchise’s third film, “John Wick: Parabellum,” became a box office success, grossing $326.7 million worldwide – on a budget of $75 million.

“John Wick: Chapter 4” hits theaters on March 24, 2023.
