Via his Twitter, James Gunn, the new boss of DC Studios, broke the silence on the possible rescue of the series ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ – which was canceled by The CW after 7 seasons – and the release of the director’s version of ‘Suicide Squad’, known as #AyerCut.

“As I opened Twitter after a long and creative week, I saw a lot of tweets about saving the ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ series from the cancellation and #AyerCut release of ‘Suicide Squad’, as well as the fan support for other DC projects along the way for years. Most of these requests were enthusiastic and respectful. As the new (and first) CEO of DC Studios, it’s important to acknowledge the wishes of fans. We want to hearing your opinions as we move forward. We are listening and open to all possibilities as we embark on this journey together.

He adds, “But our initial goal is to build the new DCU, telling even bigger stories across multiple films, series, and animated projects. We invite all DC fans into this new universe. We can’t wait to reveal more.

Took Twitter at the end of a long creative weekend to see the many tweets about #SaveLegendsofTomorrow & #ReleaseTheAyerCut & fan support for other DC projects over the years. The majority of these requests were enthusiastic and respectful.

Besides the main universe, which currently includes “Black Adam” and the upcoming new films “Aquaman”, “Shazam” and “Wonder Woman”, there is also the core of “Batman” directed by Matt Reeves, and “Joker” , who will again have a solo feature film with ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’.
