Now that James Gunn and Peter Safran have been hired as presidents of DC Studios, the division is undergoing a restructuring to bring more quality to movies, series and animation based on the comic book publisher.

And Gunn is already reaching out to fans about which characters they want to see in future films from the studio.

In a post on Mastodon, the filmmaker asked:

“Which DC characters who haven’t had their own movie yet do you most want to see on the big screen?”

Among the comments, his followers have suggested Nightwing, Batman Beyond, Martian Manhunter, Plastic Man, and even the Mighty clone of Supergirl.

So which DC character would you like to see in the movies?

Last week, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Gunn and Safran were already planning the next 10 years of film and television productions.

As fans already know, Gunn recently directed “The Suicide Squad” and the spin-off series dedicated to “Peacemaker.”

While Safran produced several DC titles such as “Aquaman” and “Shazam!” and its future sequels.

Apparently, the chairman of Warner Bros. Discovery’s David Zaslav wants the duo to transform DC Studios into an industry as assertive as Marvel Studios, led by Kevin Feige.

Through a statement, Safran said DC would now focus on telling a big story, justifying the long-term planning.

“It was a unique opportunity to tell a big, overarching story. A beautiful, big story in movies, games, TV shows, all in live action and animation.

Gunn noted that:

“It’s an opportunity to make DC as good as it can be and as it always should be – that’s why I’m doing this job, because I know Peter and I can do it. We spent the last two days with some of the best writers in the industry starting to craft that eight to ten year plan.”

When chosen to share the presidency with Safran, Gunn thanked Zaslav for his trust and said he was optimistic about the executive’s vision for DC Studios.

“I know you’re doing all of this because you love these characters too, and you love the possibility and the hope that they represent. It was clear to us from the start. We never would have considered this if it hadn’t wasn’t, so thank you.

It’s worth remembering that Gunn will always be tied to Marvel Studios until the release of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’.

Before that, the director will release a team-based Christmas special.
