Is ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Ending With Season 8 On AMC?

Everyone’s wondering if Fear The Walking Dead season 9 is on the cards. Fear the Walking Dead is a terrific spin-off of the original The Walking Dead series. The story revolves around a zombie apocalypse that endangers everyone’s life.

The residents of Los Angeles must fight through the undead to stay alive. But there is also a dysfunctional family that must put their differences aside and find a way to work together to overcome this complicated period.

The series has aired seven episodes thus far, with another on the way. However, there have already been updates on the series’ continuation after that. Let’s look into that.

‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Is Ending With Season 8

It was officially unveiled that the eighth season of ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ will be the series’ conclusion. That is certainly upsetting for the audience, especially since the original show has concluded. AMC has already made the announcement.

Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios at AMC Networks said, “It’s a truly exciting year for The Walking Dead Universe, as we conclude an epic journey on ‘Fear the Walking Dead,’ which became one of the most successful shows in the history of cable television.”

The Walking Dead Universe Lives

Though it’s saddening to know about the discontinuation. The team also mentioned something else.

The franchise lives on because McDermott also added, “And now we are set to bring forth the next iteration of the franchise – two new and anticipated series featuring the beloved characters of Maggie, Negan, and Daryl.

Along with that, we begin production on the next chapter in Rick and Michonne’s unforgettable love story, which we look forward to sharing next year.

This next phase of our beloved ‘Walking Dead’ franchise promises to engage and enthrall faithful viewers. Fans new and old will love seeing zombies walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, beneath the Eiffel Tower, inside the Louvre, and at dozens more exotic and iconic locations from around the country and world.”

Gimple also added, “The Walking Dead’ Universe Lives! To conclude ‘Fear the Walking Dead,’ we’re thrilled to be bringing you one of its most vibrant, inventive, and exciting seasons ever while breaking new ground with old favorites: Maggie and Negan in the madhouse of post-apocalyptic Manhattan with no one to depend on but each other…

Daryl Dixon in France, a loner who cannot move through this new dangerous world alone, facing vicious enemies and never-seen-before threats of the undead.  And Rick and Michonne, in a romantic saga of the dangerous road to each other, and the road they must find with each other, are cornered by a new civilization and hordes of the dead.

Lauren Cohan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, showrunner Eli Jorné, Norman Reedus, showrunner David Zabel, Danai Gurira, and Andrew Lincoln are creating heart-wrenching, heart-pounding magic for the next phase of the TWDU!”

Fear The Walking Dead Season 8 Plot

But there’s still another season to look forward to. And we hope that the characters have a great ending. The official description of season 8 reads, “Morgan, Madison, and the others they brought to the island are living under PADRE’s cynical rule.

With our characters demoralized and dejected, the task of reigniting belief in a better world rests with the person Morgan and Madison set out to rescue in the first place — Morgan’s daughter, Mo.”

This season will have 12 episodes and will be released in two six-episode blocks. The first installment will already be released on May 14, 2023. The second installment will be released later this year on October 22, 2023. You should also check out the first look at the final season of the spin-off.

Knowing that the series is coming to an end is definitely upsetting for the audience. What are your thoughts on the series’ conclusion? You’re welcome to drop your opinions in the comment section below. And don’t forget to stay tuned with us for more updates.
