The long-awaited musical “In a New York City” opens June 17 in national theaters and, to promote it, Warner Bros. released a new video in which celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Hugh Jackman and Ariana Grande rave about the production

On Rotten Tomatoes, the feature has won 99% of approvals, scoring 8.50 / 10 based on 83 reviews to date. International experts applauded the upbeat, dancing tone of the production, as well as the choreography and performances.

Directed by Jon M. Chu (“Rotten of the Rich”), the feature film is based on an original play created by Lin-Manuel Miranda in 2008.

The lights come on in Washington Heights… The scent of a caliente caffecito hangs in the air in front of the 181st Street subway station, where a kaleidoscope of dreams mobilizes this vibrant and tight-knit community. In the midst of it all, we have the dear and magnetic grocery store owner Usnavi (Anthony Ramos), who saves every penny of his workday while encouraging, imagining and singing about a better life.

The cast also includes Anthony Ramos, Leslie Grace, Corey Hawkins, Melissa Barrera, Jimmy Smits, Olga Merediz, Gregory Diaz, Noah Catala, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Stephanie Beatriz, Dascha Polanco and Marc Anthony.
