The treasury ceiling disappeared from the Aiuti Quater decree after the intervention of the Quirinal. The rule that raised the threshold for using cash to €5,000 from January will not be part of the provision to be published in the Official Journal.
The President of the Republic has pointed out to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni that there are no urgent requirements and that he needs the law which will come into force next year. The cash ceiling will therefore be part of the finance law, as well as the amnesty for the return of capital from abroad.
Penal amnesty also disappeared
The penal amnesty for those who have paid the amount due to the tax authorities has also disappeared. “In the finance law there will be no room for criminal amnesties in any case,” MEF undersecretary Maurizio Leo told La Stampa.
Fiscal peace will therefore only concern the scrapping of records and voluntary disclosure in order to repeat the rules of the Renzi and Berlusconi governments.
The maneuver will be approved Monday, November 21 by the Council of Ministers, then the parliamentary process will begin. He will arrive first in the hemicycle, by December 20. It will later go to the Senate to wrap up before Christmas or shortly after.
