‘How I Met Your Father’: ‘How I Met Your Mother’ Spinoff Series Gets Official Release Date

Hulu announced today (17) the official release date for ‘How I Met Your Father’, a spinoff series of ‘How I Met Your Mother’.

The first season is scheduled for January 18, 2022.

Hilary Duff, Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran and Suraj Sharma star in the new version. Kim Cattrall will be the narrator.

The plot takes place in the near future, where Sophie tells her son how she met his father. The story will take us back to the year 2021, where we will follow Sophie (Duff) and her group of friends – Jesse (Lowell), Valentina (Raisa), Charlie (Ainsley), Ellen (Tran) and Sid (Sharma) – who are trying to figure out who they are, what they want out of life and how to fall in love in an age full of dating apps and limitless options.

The series was created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger (“This Is Us”).

“How I Met Your Mother” aired for 9 seasons, between 2005 and 2014 and also featured Neil Patrick Harris, Alyson Hannigan, Jason Segel and Cobie Smulders.
