We are now heading into the winter season and the risk for Italian families is to see the dreaded heating bills increase

The period so dreaded by Italian families and consumers is approaching. Despite a very mild autumn and above seasonal averages, winter will begin to dawn on Italian territory these days.

This means that buildings will officially turn on heaters, i.e. the systems to keep homes, offices and commercial establishments warm and prevent heat sinking indoors.

The ignition of autonomous or generalized radiators has never frightened the Italians like this year. Indeed, given inflation and the energy crisis, high bills are a real nightmare. Indeed, with the onset of winter, fuel consumption will increase and the risk of a hard blow for families will be serious.

Which heating system is suitable for winter 2022-2023? Altroconsumo solutions

The question for Italians now is: which heating system is the most useful and practical, so as to avoid the gas bill sting?

The Altroconsumo portal has offered different models of systems that may be suitable for consumers. But different characteristics must always be taken into account: the type of dwelling, the climate of the region, the need for consumption and the source of energy.

The most common system remains that of the gas boiler. A condensing boiler represents an improvement over the traditional gas boiler, with a lower cost in the bill and lower gas consumption. The advantages of a gas condensing boiler are, for example, that it can be easily combined with the solar thermal system, that it is easy to install and repair and that there are various government incentives to buy it in a facilitated way. Then there is the biomass boiler, which has evolved in recent years: it has no fixed management cost and can be used occasionally or in addition to the main heating system. The advantages include the use in combination with renewable resources, but the disadvantages are many more. Let’s take stock of the situation below.

A hybrid is also making its appearance, namely the gas condensing boiler, but supported by a heat pump. This reduces energy consumption and increases efficiency. The purchase is facilitated thanks to state subsidies and is especially suitable for a poorly insulated house. On the other hand, however, the hybrid boiler needs outdoor space, so it is more suitable for those with their own garden, as it is noisy.
