The screenplay written by Katie Dippold (“Ghostbusters”) follows Dawson’s character, Gabbie, a single mother with a nine-year-old son. Seeking to start a new life, she buys a strangely affordable mansion in New Orleans.
When she discovers the mansion is haunted, Gabbie resorts to hiring a paranormal tour guide (Stanfield), a psychic (Haddish), a priest (Wilson), and a historian (DeVito) to help exorcise property.

The film will feature references from classic Disneyland rides, including the Leto Hatbox Ghost character. Curtis will also play a character named Madame Leota.
The film will be released in theaters on March 10, 2023.
Directed by Justin Simien, acclaimed director and screenwriter of the ‘Dear White People’ series.
Launched in 1969 and still hugely popular, the attraction takes visitors to a spooky mansion with a wide variety of supernatural scares. His most popular characters include Hatbox Ghost, Madame Leota, The Phantom and the Hitchhiking Ghosts.
In 2003, a feature film based on the attraction, starring Eddie Murphy, Terence Stamp and Marsha Thomason, was released, but it failed to meet studio expectations.
The film earned just $182 million at the box office on a budget of $90 million, as well as being a critical failure (biting a 14% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes).
A few years ago, Guillermo del Toro would be responsible for his own film version, starring Ryan Gosling, but the project was scrapped by Disney after it proved too terrifying for children.
