Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets cinema 2022: where and when
Exactly 20 years after its release, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets will be screened in theaters again from today November 16-22. The second chapter of the literary saga, born under the pen of JK Rowling, sees the young wizard returning to Hogwarts school: but new pitfalls await him at the door.
Considered today as one of the most profitable literary and cinematographic sagas of all time, Harry Potter inevitably marked the childhood of at least two generations. Evidenced by the clamor aroused by the reunion that took place last year, on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the first film, and also evidenced by the new initiative recently promoted. From today November 16 and until next November 22, the second chapter of the saga, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, will be screened in many Italian cinemas, exactly twenty years after its first release. Second and last film of the narrative universe, centered on the boy sorcerer, directed by Chris Columbus, it is also the penultimate most profitable of the saga, with “just” nearly 879 million dollars.

Much to the delight of many Millennials – and, certainly, as many Gen Z potterheads – Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets returns to the big screen twenty years after its release. After a first encounter with the Dark Lord in the previous chapter, the young wizard will return for the second year to the school of witchcraft and wizardry at Hogwarts, in the midst of a thousand difficulties. To hinder his arrival in the prestigious institute directed by Albus Dumbledore, it is Dobby, the house-elf, who will try to prevent him from returning to defend him from great danger.
As soon as he arrives, the School will be marked by obscure phenomena which will trigger terror, particularly among “mixed” students, that is to say not of purely magical lineage. Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) will have to face a frightening creature and a dark secret that could undermine the security of Hogwarts from its very foundations.
Blockbuster like the other films in the saga, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was released in theaters in 2002. It was also the second most successful film of the season, behind only The Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers, directed by Peter Jackson. The film also received several accolades and nominations, including four BAFTA Award nominations and a Grammy Award for Best Original Score.
