The new season will explore stories that go beyond the source material to illuminate the mysterious friendship between Aziraphale, a demanding angel and rare book merchant, and the fast-paced demon Crowley. Having been on Earth from the start and with the Apocalypse foiled, Aziraphale and Crowley easily return to live among mortals in London’s Soho neighborhood when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.
Gaiman continues as executive producer and will be co-showrunner. He says:
“It’s been thirty-one years since ‘Good Omens’ was published, which means it’s been thirty-two years since Terry Pratchett and I were lying on our respective beds in a Seattle hotel room during a World Fantasy Convention and we planned the sequence. I had to use pieces from the Good Omens sequel – that’s where our angels came from. Terry is no longer there, but when he was there we talked about what we wanted to do with ‘Good Omens’ and where the story would go. And now, thanks to BBC Studios and Amazon, I can take you there. I recruited some wonderful contributors and John Finnemore came on board to carry the torch with me. There are so many questions people have asked about what happened next (and also what happened before) to our favorite angel and demon. Here are the answers you’ve been waiting for. We’re back in Soho, and across time and space, solving a mystery, which begins with an angel wandering through Soho with no memory.
Remember that the first season of ‘Good Omens’ is now available on Amazon Prime.
