The first episode of the ‘Gavião Arqueiro’ series pays a fun tribute to Captain America and the Avengers in a musical named after the Super Soldier.
Through the song ‘Save the City’, the musical reproduces the Battle of New York, from the climax of ‘The Avengers’ (2012).
And, it seems the idea inspired executive producer Trinh Tran.
During an interview with The Reel Rejects, the filmmaker said she would like to produce a musical for Marvel.
“I would love to do a musical someday for Marvel. Who wouldn’t love? The musical ‘Gavião Arqueiro’ started out as a backstage play. At first, the ad was only shown on a billboard, Clint didn’t even watch the show. But then we were like, “Wouldn’t it be fun if we played a fight against the Avengers in a musical”? “
What started as a joke quickly took shape.

“Every time we talked about this musical, the idea just got bigger. Everyone in the room was excited to see this happen until it turned into something real, if only for a few minutes. Maybe we can do a real musical at some point.
It’s worth remembering that Marvel shared the song “Save the City” on YouTube, written by Marc Shaiman, who also co-wrote the lyrics with Scott Wittman (“Mary Poppins Returns”).

Recalling that the next episode of the series will be broadcast on December 1.

Disney + and Marvel Studios invite you to an unexpected end-of-year getaway with ‘Gavião Arqueiro’, a new series set after the New York City crash. Former avenger Clint Barton (Renner) has a seemingly simple mission: to return to his family for Christmas. Possible? Perhaps with the help of Kate Bishop (Steinfeld), a 22-year-old archer who dreams of becoming a superhero. The two are forced to work together as a presence from Barton’s past threatens to destroy more than the festive atmosphere.
In addition to Steinfeld and Renner, Florence Pugh will reprise her role as Yelena Belova, a younger version of Black Widow. Vera Farmiga (“Summon of Evil”) will take on the role of Eleanor Bishop.
Fra Fee will play a character named Kazi, possibly a reference to Kazimierz Kazimierczak, better known as the Mercenary Evil Clown. Tony Dalton and Alaqua Cox complete the cast.
