Prior to playing in the “Archer Hawk” series, Jeremy Renner played the character in “Thor”, “The Avengers”, “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, “Captain America: Civil War” and “Avengers: Ultimatum”.
However, he almost turned down the role due to the contract extension, as he was 40 when he first played the role.
During an interview with Vanty Fair, Renner said he feared playing the character for another 10 years, which he ironically did.
“I remember talking to [o diretor critiavo da Marvel Studios] Kevin Feige and with [o co-presidente do estúdio] Lou D’Esposito, and they showed me an Ultimate version of Hawkeye. I found it very interesting because I liked what they did with Iron Man, but I needed to sign a contract for a bunch of Avengers movies and a possible spin-off of Gavião.
He continued:
“I was like, ‘Like, what if I get stuck in this role even at 50? “Who wants to see me in tights when I’m 50?” This was my main concern, I wasn’t sure I could do it for 10 years.

Fortunately, the star ended up accepting the proposal and became one of the MCU’s most notable characters.

Disney + and Marvel Studios invite you to an unexpected end-of-year getaway with ‘Gavião Arqueiro’, a new series set after the New York City crash. Former avenger Clint Barton (Renner) has a seemingly simple mission: to return to his family for Christmas. Possible? Perhaps with the help of Kate Bishop (Steinfeld), a 22-year-old archer who dreams of becoming a superhero. The two are forced to work together as a presence from Barton’s past threatens to destroy more than the festive atmosphere.
In addition to Steinfeld and Renner, Florence Pugh will reprise her role as Yelena Belova, a younger version of Black Widow. Vera Farmiga (“Summon of Evil”) will take on the role of Eleanor Bishop.
Fra Fee will play a character named Kazi, possibly a reference to Kazimierz Kazimierczak, better known as the Mercenary Evil Clown. Tony Dalton and Alaqua Cox complete the cast.
