“Fullmetal Alchemist: Scar’s Revenge,” the first live-action film from the duo that forms “Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen” (“Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Arc”) will premiere on Netflix on August 20. In Japan, the theatrical release took place in May.

Netflix will also bring the second movie, “Final Alchemy,” likely on September 24, as recorded on the platform. The movies continue the 2017 film, which is currently also available on Netflix.

The main cast is the same, and the new films feature actor Mackenyu as Scar. The actor is involved in a controversy in Japan, stemming from an allegation of having committed several crimes, which the actor denies.

The duo Ryosuke Yamada and Atomu Mizuishi return as brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, respectively. Mackenyu Arata, from ‘Samurai X – The Finale’ and who will play Zoro in the ‘One Piece’ series, stars as Scar in both films.

Tsubasa Honda as Winry Rockbell and Dean Fujioka as Roy Mustang are also confirmed in the cast. The films are directed by Fumihiko Sori, who helmed the 2017 film. Both films were produced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of Hiromu Arakawa’s manga.
