Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, has been voted the UK’s ‘Top Female Model’ in a nationwide poll for the Girls Out Loud campaign. Prince William’s wife appears as the most inspiring woman of the year, with a landslide victory, obtained with 35% of the vote.

The British therefore preferred Middleton, who had to defend himself from other royal candidates anyway, including Queen Consort Camilla and her sister-in-law Meghan Markle. But it was not a survey that only concerned women in the British royal family.

Voters, in fact, could express their preference to all women. Singer Rochelle Humes took second place with 25% of the vote, while former British Prime Minister Liz Truss came third with 23% of the vote. Fourth and sixth place went to Holly Willoughby and Molly Mae Hague respectively.

Jane Kenyon, Founder of Girls Out Loud, said: “It’s really important to continue to support girls, so they have the same opportunities as they move forward in life.” And when it comes to women, the British see Kate Middleton as their role model.

Not bad, however, also the result obtained by the other women of the royal family. Queen Consort Camilla claimed fifth place, securing 18% of the vote, while Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, came in seventh with just 15% of the vote. Rounding out the top ten, in order, were Emma Watson, Dame Deborah James and Stacey Dooley. The enthusiasm for the Princess of Wales was also palpable on social networks. Commenting on the investigation also on social networks, some Internet users wrote several messages in favor of Kate Middleton.
